Overview
Created an AI-driven platform that helps Job Seekers Apply Confidently with AI
Polaris is an AI-powered recruitment platform for startups and SMEs, built over a 10-week venture sprint. It helps sales candidates match, apply, and track roles in one connected flow.
My Role: Led a team of 4 designers to design and handoff the MVP
Problem
Job hunting is slow and fragmented
Job seekers are often frustrated by manually matching their job experiences and company preferences when searching for startup or medium-sized enterprise (SME) jobs in the US market.
How might we help professionals quickly understand job fit and apply with confidence, without sacrificing accuracy or control?
Research
What the data told us
94 screening surveys and 7 in-depth interviews, synthesized with affinity mapping to find where the process breaks down.
Final Solution
One place to match, apply, and track
Two AI features carry the experience: real-time company insights while browsing, and a resume optimizer that tailors each application to the role.
Instant Keyword Highlight on Job Description
Smart company & job insights, growth, culture, and reviews at a glance.
AI resume optimization, grammar, formatting, and keyword matching per role.
Process
Prioritizing and testing what mattered
We mapped ideas on an impact–effort matrix, down-selected three core features, then ran A/B and usability tests with 15 users to refine the flows.
Impact
From prototype to launching MVP
The interactive prototype and pitch secured funding from Harvard Innovation Labs and Spark Grants — and became the foundation for the MVP now heading to launch.
Reflection
What I took away
Under a hard deadline, prioritization was everything — clear timelines and decision rules kept the team focused. Working closely with engineers early made ambitious AI features realistic to ship.
